BIOPHILIC CONTENTMENT
MA Fashion Knitwear Project
This collection explores the desires of the post-covid in order to create a sustainable collection which appeals to them. It has discovered this consumers desire for clothes which are both comfortable and stylish so focuses on designing elevated loungewear. It also recognises the post-covid consumers interest in wellness particularly the Biophilia trend, an architecture term meaning to create designs which incorporate nature, which became popular during lockdown and therefore takes design inspiration from natural imagery.
BLOSSOMING BLISS
BA Textile Design Final Year Collection
This project explores how colour and texture can be used to create clothes which inspire positive emotions in the wearer. It aims to encourage sustainability by designing for emotional durability, aiming to create garments which the wearer will keep for a long time.
Three different collections have been developed, each to create a different positive emotion in the wearer. One collection uses soft colours and textures to create feelings of calm, one uses bright colours and playful designs to create joy and one uses warm colours and chunky fabrics to comfort the wearer.
SHIMA SEIKI TRAINING - COMPETITION WINNER
Shima Seiki Student Competition Winner
The competition prize was two weeks of training covering basic knit programming and virtual simulation software.

This included using Knit Paint in Apex 4 to program fabrics and fully fashioned garment panels, setting up and knitting on Shima machines and using Knit Design and 3D Modellist in Apex 4 to simulate fabrics and garments.

Joules Design Competition
Winning Entry
A competition brief with Joules to produce a collection inspired by the British countryside.
The Rectory Garden focused on Rachel Emily's favourite outdoor space, her dad’s vegetable garden, and produced a collection of wellington boot and walking socks inspired by vegetables.
Joules loved how well a fun collection was created that still stayed true to their brand identity and chose this project as one of the competition winners.
